KU to honor faculty, staff retirees at luncheon May 17
LAWRENCE – The University of Kansas will honor retiring faculty and staff with a luncheon May 17. Chancellor Douglas A. Girod and Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Barbara Bichelmeyer will recognize the employees during the private event.
This will be the first year the reception will be combined for all retiring faculty and academic, support and unclassified professional staff.
Invitations will soon be sent to KU employees who have retired in the past year or have announced plans to retire by Aug. 5, 2024. Each retiree may bring up to three additional guests to help share the celebration.
A list of this year’s retirees will be shared with the campus community at a later date.
While the event has been open to past retirees in previous years, the luncheon will now focus solely on current retirees to highlight their careers and service to the university.
