Kyou Networking Week to help students, alumni foster career connections

LAWRENCE — The KU Alumni Association invites all KU schools and departments to be part of Kyou Networking Week, Oct. 7-12. Now in its sixth year, Kyou Networking Week is a series of career-focused events that harness the power of a global network of Jayhawks.

By encouraging participation, schools and departments can help their students discover job opportunities, strengthen their networks, establish mentorships or friendships and engage their alumni in making similar career connections and in giving back to support other Jayhawks on their professional journeys. Kyou Networking Week is also an opportunity for schools and departments to spotlight the impact their faculty, staff and alumni have made on KU students past and present.

Ways schools and departments can participate in Kyou Networking Week:

  • Promote events: Visit the Kyou Networking Week website to see the full lineup of events. The website will be updated regularly as events are confirmed. Share these with  alumni.
  • Share KU Mentoring+: The University’s home for mentoring, networking and community, KU Mentoring+ is a free platform for students and alumni to expand their professional networks, unlock new career opportunities, receive and offer mentorship and career support, and more. Inform your students and alumni about KU Mentoring+ and its vibrant, worldwide community 14,000 Jayhawks.
  • Encourage shoutouts: Invite students and alumni to recognize Jayhawks who have made a difference in their experience at KU or in their career by posting about them on social media and using the #KUnetworking hashtag or tagging the KU Alumni Association.
  • Attend “Thank Goodness It’s Thursday”: Join fellow faculty and staff for a social and networking event from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Jayhawk Welcome Center. “TGIT” is presented in partnership with the Office of the Chancellor. Drinks, snacks and giveaways will be included. Register here.

Kyou Networking Week is presented by the Jayhawk Career Network, powered by Truity Credit Union.
