Osher Lifelong Learning Institute releases fall 2025 catalog with 50 courses and 8 special events — preview it July 16

LAWRENCE — The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Kansas has released its fall 2025 catalog, offering an exciting season of 50 noncredit courses and eight special events designed especially for lifelong learners aged 50 and better.
This fall marks one of Osher's most exciting and expansive seasons yet, featuring 19 brand-new courses and seven first-time special events. From pivotal moments in history, like “History of Quindaro” and “1863: The Turning Point,” to timely explorations of today’s issues, such as “Ethics in Modern Life” and “The State of Child Welfare in Kansas,” the catalog spans a wide range of subjects including history, current events, music, philosophy and religion, culture and more.
“Every semester we aim to bring fresh, engaging opportunities to our community,” said Jennifer Kraenzle, director of Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. “This fall, our lineup is more robust and creative than ever. Whether you're a returning student or joining us for the first time, we think you’ll find something to spark your curiosity.”
Among the new special events are a walking tour of East Lawrence, a coffee-tasting experience at PT’s Coffee and a holiday day trip to Kansas City’s historic Victorian mansions. Osher is also piloting new discussion-based courses that encourage participants to dive deeper into today’s most pressing issues.
To celebrate the launch of the new season, Osher will host a Fall Preview Event from 4 to 5:30 p.m. July 16 at the St. Andrews Office Facility, 1515 St. Andrews Drive, offering attendees a sneak peek at the upcoming courses, a chance to meet instructors and time to connect with fellow lifelong learners.
Preview event registration is open until the event begins July 16, and course registration opens that day at 5 p.m. at the Osher Institute website. No tests. No homework. Just learning for the joy of it.
