University Press of Kansas hosts traveling AUPresses 2025 Book, Jacket, and Journal Show

LAWRENCE — The University Press of Kansas (UPK) is hosting the traveling Association of University Presses 2025 Book, Jacket, and Journal Show, a prestigious exhibition celebrating excellence in university press design and production.

The display will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through March 13 at the University Press of Kansas, located on the University of Kansas West Campus at 2502 Westbrooke Circle.

Now in its 60th year, the AUPresses Book, Jacket, and Journal Show honors the design and production professionals who bring scholarly publishing to life. By recognizing achievement in the design, production and manufacture of print publications, the show not only celebrates the best work of the past year but also sparks thoughtful, creative and resourceful publishing design for the future.

Open to AUPresses member publishers worldwide for works published in 2024, this year’s competition attracted 575 submissions across the following categories:

  • Scholarly books (typographic and illustrated)
  • Trade books (typographic and illustrated)
  • Poetry and literature books

  • Reference books
  • Journals

  • Jackets and covers (books and journals).

The selected works represent outstanding examples of innovation, craftsmanship and visual storytelling in academic publishing, according to AUPresses. In addition to the in-person display, the 2025 show is available to view online.
